walked out of this salon with my nails unfinished because I was so unsatisfied with their service. I came in for a mani-pedi, and my pedicure came out fine. I came in for a mani-pedi, and my pedicure came out fine. When it came to the manicure, the nail technician was very aggressive with my cuticles to the point that they were bleeding. Then I was passed off to another nail technician for the shellac portion of the manicure. Unfortunately for me, she had another client waiting for her, so she rushed through polishing my nails and painted all over my bleeding cuticles. I was quite frustrated at this time, and had already spent 1.5 hours in the salon. I asked them to remove the shellac and she told me that I would have to pay the shellac price.\n\nAt this point, I just wanted to leave the establishment and never come back. After noticing my frustration, they then told me I did not have to pay for the shellac, which unfortunately did not make up for their lack of customer service.\n\nI do not recommend this nail salon. more ... less ...

I came across Modern Edge Salon, and I went in for a new look/cut on 10 Since moving to Connecticut from New York in 2020, I have been looking for a fabulous hair salon so that I don’t have to travel far from home. I came across Modern Edge Salon, and I went in for a new look/cut on 10/23/22. From the moment I entered, I felt at home. I received excellent care, a fabulous new haircut that I am over the moon for and an absolutely beautiful salon. Although I don’t remember everyone’s name, and I do apologize, the owners are such outgoing, friendly, down to earth people and the girl that did my hair is such a great cutter, she knew exactly what I wanted, she saw my vision and she cut my hair perfectly. She is such a delight. It was an outstanding experience and I already booked my next appointment. more ... less ...

My experience with Jackie was a nightmare. She did my gel manicure and pedicure in less than an hour. Of course, what do you expect, right? They are bumpy and the nail polish is on my skin. I have been going here for years…a couple of years ago I tried like 4 different salons looking for a change of pace but NONE compare to LA Nails…every friend I’ve ever brought here now only goes here. The nails- which if you get your nails done you know what I’m talking about- last, they’re not only strong they look fresh until you get a fill & I often wait 3 weeks (sometimes even longer) and they never look ratchet. Pedicures are quality- I haven’t had to cut or maintain my toes in years bc LA not only trims- which is standard-they go the extra mile and use sterilized equipment to groom any callous skin and trim so your feet are the best they can be.What I think really sets them apart is the skill level- whether you’re old school and want square and short or coffin shaped or any of the other 100 styles you can imagine- they can do it and they’re the best at it. They do great nail art, design and polish, dip, gel or acrylic they have something for everyone. Stop in and try them- they’re awesome and it’s obvious by the clientele- male pedicure, waxing, Pinterest worthy nails or day to day (like me) you won’t be disappointed. My nails are naturally long and strong, but about a week after I went here, they began breaking/splintering well into my nail bed, which has never happened to me before. After about 3 weeks, I had the gel paint removed; my nails were thin, uneven, and severely indented below. Thankfully my new nail growth is healthy, but I am writing to caution you with this place to save yourself the money, time, and headache that them damaging their nails could cause you. more ... less ...

I’m giving a 2 star for management or whoever works at the front. I came in with almond shaped nails which are my own. Total for my nails only $80. Now I’m all about paying for service, but throwing random numbers out is ridiculous! I’ve been coming here for over a year and there is absolutely no consistency in pricing! And their business practice is awful! Took 4 hours to do an overlay and pedicure because they don’t soak off while doing the pedicures or Vice versus! Super annoying !!!! Techs are great, nails are cute! more ... less ...

I am so frustrated with this place! I wanted French tip acrylics and he left nail polish from previous nails on and with the drill he kept hurting me. The nails are not smooth, not even, theres polish left on my fingers. I am so frustrated with this place! I am not at all happy and without asking he put gel polish on and upcharged me. I did not ask for that and would not pay for it so he took it off. Then I was so unhappy with it I wanted them off and a refund and I went back in twice. I was talked down to, called a child, he fought with me. The other woman denied anything was wrong and refused to give my money back and refused to talk to me any further-they both sat down and ignored me.
