I got a deluxe pedi the other day. The woman who did it was really thorough and sweet. Really nice massage. She was awesome. Instead your manicurists argued with me and told me I was wrong. So unless youre willing to refund me, I dont think theres anything more to say. I asked for tips, she told me my nails were long enough, which as you can see, they are short…. And the length should be my decision! The dip she put on is uneven and chunky, our nails are filed completely uneven! The lady I had filed my nails in a square, I’m not really sure if that’s what you’d call the shape, after I told her I wanted rounded nails! She informed me that with my finger size they would look better with square. RUDE! I had her refile them 4x before I gave up! I could tell she was annoyed with me! I did go home and try to salvage them, no luck! My daughters nails were to be clear acrylic, the lady did pink acrylic!! She even asked my daughter 3x what color!! In turn she had to change up her design, one she has had picked out for months. Her nails are so uneven I’m not sure filing hers would even help at this point! Both of our nails and fingers HURT from being filed on so much!! My cuticles are so dry they are cracking because I sat for an hour and half with acetone on! I have never had that happen before! Like I said super nice ladies, worst nails ever! I did pay them because they did the work and put in their time but wow, lesson learned!!!! I choose to travel here because of the quality in providers and services, but also for the atmosphere. The staff is never rushed, they are always welcoming you to come early/stay late to relax. It is quiet, unlike similar places that might be connected to a noisy salon. The Spa at West Glen feels like a breath of fresh air and I look forward to coming again, and again. more ... less ...

It’s a family affair. Mom and dad have set the kids up to run this lucrative nail shop. There is Tony ( Nail artist), Bee (Another nail tech sister)and Tiffany (The youngest sister— who is fantastic with pedicu It’s a family affair. Mom and dad have set the kids up to run this lucrative nail shop. There is Tony ( Nail artist), Bee (Another nail tech sister)and Tiffany (The youngest sister— who is fantastic with pedicures). The environment is welcoming and warm. Under new management since 2019 with wide open spaces between pedicure chairs. My pedicure specialist—Tiffany— was very thorough and added the detail needed to display a very polished outcome. Tony finished my nails creating a melody of colors with skilled dipping techniques. The prices are reasonable, parking good, and it is best to schedule ahead since there could be a fifteen minute wait for walk ins if there is a slot available. Let’s continue to support small local family owned businesses in Des Moines and surrounding areas so they continue to survive during this not so normal times. more ... less ...

Super disappointed with my experience tonight. Went with a friend to get dip. One of the older ladies in this salon did them. While she was dipping my fingers in the powder I noticed they were not taking on a blue color at all, but more of a white/silver. I asked her why they were not blue and she insisted that it was and once she put the top coat on the color would pop. I asked why they were this color and if it could be fixed and she said it was too late. My friend came over and pointed out which color it should have been right in front of her and the lady never even acknowledged the fact she did the wrong color even after both my friend and I told her about it. She cut my cuticle open 3 different times to the point they were bleeding then proceeded to charge me full price despite all these things. Never made an effort to fix them, apologize, or even discount me for this mistake. I later had to go home and buy nail polish at the store and paint over them. I have been here before and was pleased but this time I am beyond upset about the lack of service and just plain carelessness!! A simply apology or attempt to fix the mistake or even a coupon or a gift card would have been better than nothing but no. more ... less ...
