Find best hair and nail salon in Oak Park , IL

I am not surprised that the only two other reviews for this place were negative for similar reasons that I have experienced there. I have been a summer costumer for the past couple of years and each time Ive gone I have I am not surprised that the only two other reviews for this place were negative for similar reasons that I have experienced there. I have been a summer costumer for the past couple of years and each time Ive gone I have left disappointed about some part of my visit. I have never felt the need to write a review about it until today though. Today I booked a bikini and eyebrow wax using SpaFinder gift certificates. When I checked in the receptionist Sami was very eager to make sure that I had the certificates to cover the amount of the services, but when I asked for the amount of the services, she wasnt sure what it would be. First she told me it was going to be $82 for both services. I gave her $100 certificate to as she said \"hold onto while I was receiving my services.\" I looked at their own spa menu and saw that it should only be $72. I brought the mistake to her attention and told her that I would give her a different gift certificate to check out as I had a $75 certificate. I received my services, which were acceptable. The problem occurred when I went to check out. Sami had already charged my SpaFinder deposit, and was trying to give me the remainder on a printed out piece of paper that I could only use at Spa Constantine. This was totally unacceptable to me since I dont plan on returning, and I had explained to her that I as going to pay with the $75 certificate instead and had left the $100 in good faith. I waited 30 minutes for her to find a way to refund me my money, and she called two managers who didnt seem to care about helping me at all. She eventually got a hold of one, Penny Limperez, who completely blew me off. Even when I asked Sami to to call her back again because I was not satisfied with her response. She refused to talk to me. Sami was very reluctant in telling me when I could get a hold of the manager. I was very furious when I left! I plan on going back and trying to fix this situation, but what a pain in the butt! This was the opposite of a relaxing, spa experience. It shows me that their management doesnt care about their costumers at all, and cares much more about padding their own pockets. more ... less ...

This was up until the last 4 times I’ve visited. I started seeing some unfamiliar faces, not sure if that was the reason. The first couple of times they did horrible jobs on my no chip manicure and pedicure and I thought it was because of lack of experience. However, my last visit was recent and the nail tech who did my acrylic had the nastiest attitude. Not to mention, I tried to book an earlier appointment that they suggested a later time for and got to me super late, then had me there an hour past closing. The nail tech listened to nothing that I asked for. I initially showed her a picture and only after she tried to do what SHE wanted does she tell me she can’t do it. I asked for a simple French tip. That’s not at all what she tried to give.\n\nThen she tried to go back and forth with me to tell me that she’s done nails for 12 years. Then I tried to tell her the color I wanted and that someone removed the color from the table and she says something sarcastic in the rudest tone. She asked have I been there before and I have gone there for two years! So I let her know that I have never had an issue with the woman who usually does artificial nails and I have gotten a similar French tip there before. She then proceeds to chat with another tech and starts painting with the wrong color. I then remind her of the color I asked for. Once she starts to apply the color, she then tells me she now knows what I meant. I don’t understand how I had to have a struggle to do such a simple nail. I came here for the first time recently. I went from medium length to practically pixie. She did an amazing job. This place never upens on time. I waited on several occasions for them to open. On Saturday April 23rd I waited 40 minutes for them to open. I was 3rd in line. One lady left which made me second. One lady left which made me second. When the employees finally showed up. I signed in. A white guy came in after they opened and they took him ahead of me. He and I both were getting a pedicure. He didn’t wait at all. He was put ahead of everyone waiting. When I said something a lot of arguing went on between the employees in their language. Lilly (Asian) women that waited on the white guy instead of taking me and following the line how we came in. She wanted to take the white guy. This place is racist. I would not recommend any person of color to go to this establishment. I was humiliated, hurt, and couldn’t believe such a racist act is yet going on in this day and age. Shame on them. I was very hesitant to get gel manicure done but my first experience went really well. These people were nice and welcoming. I went without appointment and got done in less than an hour.\nJennifer worked on my nails. She I was very hesitant to get gel manicure done but my first experience went really well. They are rude disrespectful and do a rush job. The only time I have ever received good service here is when I was serviced by a young lady by the name of Sabrina and she is no longer there.
